WAHM Winter Wonderland:Geeky Cheeks Cloth Diapers

My name is Ashley and I am the owner of Geeky Cheeks boutique from Texas.I am married and mother to an active one year old boy. I started cloth diapering a little late in the game (5 months) but I became instantly OBSESSED! I decided to make some for my son out of old T-shirts and woven fabrics and they turned out rather nice. My sweet husband suggested I make some to sell and that's when Geeky Cheeks Boutique was born. I specialize in hybrid fitteds but I'm going to dip my hands into some all in 2s soon! Each hybrid fitted is constructed from an inner layer of organic bamboo velour, a hidden layer of poly-fleece, and a decorative outer layer from a cotton knit, cotton woven, or in occasion Minky. The soaker is petal style and made to easily snap in and out. It is made from 4 super thirsty layers of super heavy organic bamboo fleece topped with the same velour on the inner of the diaper shell. I work hard to ensure each diaper is compliant with CPSIA rules and regulations so you know your baby is wearing a safe handmade product. I do take custom orders and I'd love to make one for your little one!

I tried out one of her Hybrid Fitted Diapers which retail for $27.00-$28.00. Here is the one we tried. 100% cotton knit, a hidden layer of poly fleece, and an inner layer of soft, luxurious organic bamboo velour.

Ok so when I saw the Christmas Grinch print i almost died. One of my all time favorite Christmas shows to watch and I was so excited to put this diaper on this babies bottom. It has a snap down rise and snaps across the waist with cross over snaps. That is a must for us with a skinny baby especially getting a good fit with fitted diapers. This is out favorite style that I will choose.

Now once you can get past the super cute print lets go look at the inside.

I was a little nervous that the inside was white but so far so good. We usually try to stay away from white diaper just in case. The inside is so soft and it is made out of a 5 layer petal style soaker. 4 layers of super heavy organic bamboo fleece topped with the same velour used inside the shell of the diaper. Making every part that touched your baby 100% organic.

All of her diapers come with a label on the inside with washing and care directions as well as manufacture and batch date.

He is 17 lbs and I can still cross it all the way over to make a nice tight fit. These diapers are not waterproof so you will need a cover. I like to use this diaper for nap time. If the front wasn't cute enough look at the backside.

The front is so cute but the backside does not disappoint!

This is one of her Hybrid Fitted diapers and it has a hidden layer of fleece & a hidden sewn in zorb soaker.

I like this diaper even more that it does not have a white inside!! You can see absolutely no stains. I know you want to get to it and see how this diaper looks on.

Now for the backside.

I just love it and the fit is great. Now this is a fitted diaper so that means that you need to put a cover over it to make it waterproof. I was able to use this diaper from 9-1 with no leaks and only changed when the baby woke up. I think it would of even lasted much longer. Kinda Krunchy Hybrid Fitted Cloth Diaper

We have really jumped into the fitted world and we now only use fitteds at night time. I was happy to try out a hybrid fitted diaper with Windpro fleecw from Kinda Krunchy.  I choose a super cute knit print and I know you all will love it too!

Here is the backside.

The inside of the diaper did not dissapoint either.

The soaker system is made up of a petal soaker with 2 layers of super heavy organic bamboo fleece and 2 layers of organic hemp fleece topped with cotton velour and a lay in doubler with one layer of super heavy organic bamboo fleece and one layer of organic hemp fleece topped with cotton velour (lay in doubler only comes with the One Size diapers). 

It is super soft and silky which I think comes from the velour she uses. I love that it has a extra little booster and we use this diaper at night time and it lasts him all night long. Here is how it looks on.

Now for the backside.

I love this diaper and again this lasts him all night long. It doesn't hurt that the print is super cute also.

Babies 1st Birthday: Smellephant Fluff Hybrid Fitted Review & $20 GC Giveaway

I found Spellephant Fluff one day while on facebook and I was immediately drawn to her Character diapers. I picked a owl fabric with a matching minky this diaper fits from 10-35+lbs.

This is one of her Hybrid Fitted diapers.  This style has a hidden layer of poly fleece, letting the diaper breath but still water-resistant. You would need a cover to make this diaper fully water-proof. Like the Ai2 this diaper comes with snap-in inserts for easy washing and adjustability.

The fabric is so cute and she matched the orange with it so nice. The inside has a super long insert and it works really great.

Each diaper comes with two inserts made of super heavy bamboo fleece. Like the name suggests, these inserts are SUPER absorbent. For the Ai2 and HF styles the inserts are topped cuddly minky to wick away moisture from baby’s bum and keep it dry and comfy.I just fold it down for my little boy at night time. This diaper will need a cover to be waterproof but we have been using it at bed time.

Fat Apple Diapers Hybrid Fitted Review & Giveaway

I was excited to try out Fat Apple Diapers. We have been using fitted diapers at nighttime only and so far so good. Now that baby is 9 months old the other brand we were using at nighttime was not enough. These diapers retail for around $25 plus shipping. Here is the diaper i received.

FIT AND WEIGHT RANGES
Fat Apples come in 2 sizes:

• The “Baby Apple” fit is the original one size fit and ranges from around 10-25 lbs. depending on the weight distribution of your baby.
• The “Apple Jax” fit is a toddler fit that goes up to around 35 lbs., and has longer wings that cross on larger babies.

DIAPER CONSTRUCTION

The shell of a Fat Apple diaper is made with an outer woven or knit fabric of your choice, and a hidden layer of Polartec® WindPro® fabric, which is a highly breathable yet extremely water repellent fabric. Touching the baby’s bum is a layer of TexTest certified cotton velour in a color that matches the outer print. 

The Fat Apple soaker consists of an inner core of microfiber that is sandwiched between 2 layers of Oeko-Tex 100, GOTS certified bamboo fleece and covered with the same cotton velour that is used in the shell. All of this is sewn together with a bias tape that is made with the same outer fabric, making it match the outside print of the diaper. This matching insert will facilitate laundry time, making it easier to match shell and insert when folding the diaper back together. 

Now I have to say that when I received this diaper I wasn't a big fan of the bulk it gave BUT after trying it out for a month and washing it made it softer and I didn't even notice it any longer. It may be a issue if you were trying to put pants over it but for night time with pj's on I LOVE it! Here is how it looks on.

This is how it looks with a flip cover for night time. I had to all the way unsnap the rise also.
