Holiday Gift Guide 2014: My Peak-A-Boo Elmo

My Holiday Gift Guide will be starting out with a great toy from Hasbro. It is their My Peak-A-Boo Elmo.

I gave it to Booboo and he knew who it was right away as we called out Melmo. It is soft and just the right size for him to carry around. You just squeeze his belly and Elmo says 15 fun phrases. Elmo puts his hands over his eyes to play peekaboo.

He retails for $19.99 so a great price point for any child ages 1-4. This would make a great Christmas gift for a boy or a girl.

He loves it. This is our very first Sesame Street toy and now he plays with every day. You can purchase this toy from AMAZON, TOYSRUS, and HASBRO TOY SHOP.

Changing Times: Keeping Your Photos and Important Documents Safe

Many of us can’t remember the last time we printed out a photograph taken on a digital device. Gone are the days when the majority of people had to wait eagerly while their rolls of film were being developed. Now most people have a significant collection of photos and important documents saved in phones, on hard drives, and on the desktop of their computers. While there’s less to grab in the event of a fire, it can be difficult to ensure that you’ll be able to save your photos if your computer or device crashes. Here are a few tips for ensuring the safety of your precious and memorable photographs.

Back Up Your Files

It’s easy to back up your computer or device. Choose a reliable cloud to store your photos and documents, such as Togglebox Cloud. You may even want to scan or photograph your children’s art work, passports, birth certificates, and other important information to have on file in case a disaster happens and you need to be able to access the items. It may help to take some time to organize the files if they aren’t already easily accessible. Organize photos in folders according to year, and important documents by the name of the person they belong to. Keep photos and important documents separate. If you have lots of old photos before the digital age, take an afternoon or to and recruit one of your children to help scan and save them into the cloud. This would also be a good way to share old family photos with siblings and cousins without risking losing your originals.

Create a Back Up System

We all know it’s important to back up the files, but actually getting around to doing it is another story. If you have trouble remembering to do it, it’s important to get yourself on a schedule of backing everything up periodically. Create an alert in your calendar, or a physical trigger to remind you to stop and do a backup. The alert in your calendar may be every other week or once a month. If you sit down to pay bills once a month, it might be good to train yourself to perform this other important maintenance activity at the same time. Even if you want to procrastinate and put it off, make it a priority. You’ll be glad you did in the event that your computer crashes, which happens more often than we care to consider.

Back Up Music                 

If you have a large music collection, this could also be an excellent thing to back up.  You don’t want your favorite tunes to go missing or worse case scenario, disappear. Save copies of all those favorite albums in case you have problems accessing them on your computer, MP3 player, or phone at another time. It’s better to be safe than sorry when it comes to information storage, and finding a secure location where you can store your important files is very important in our ever-changing world. Keep your files safe.

 

NEW Luminess Airbrushing System EPIC

I recently was able to try out the new airbrush system from Luminess Air. This new system is called EPIC. It took me some time to get the hang of it and I think most of the faults were due to the color selection that I was sent. But on to the review of the machine. Here is how it looked when it came.

The new airbrush system is awesome and comes with how to videos which are really helpful.

It also comes with  a foundation kit.

I was also sent the skincare set.

One of the biggest tips I can give is pratice pratice pratice. One of the main problems that I has was holding it to close to my face while i was spraying it leaving my face looking like a mess. Here is my before face with nothing on it.

This next pic was after using the X-out undereye for dark circles and you can deff see a change from the pic above.

This is the after with a full face of foundation and i did add a little powder too.

I have not gotten the hang of using the airbrush blush so i just applied my regular blush. The makeup was light wearing and it didnt smear and lasted all day. The best part is you can layer it to fit your needs. I really like this system and I know I will get better with it in time.

I also received their Chatom Vineyards 2012 Semillon.

The Savington Blanc is a great super sweet wine and I shared it with my husband and we ate it with desert. I shared the Semillon with a friend and she liked this one much better than I did. I have came to learn that wine is a aquired taste and not everyone will be pleased the same.

Kinda Krunchy Hybrid Fitted Cloth Diaper

We have really jumped into the fitted world and we now only use fitteds at night time. I was happy to try out a hybrid fitted diaper with Windpro fleecw from Kinda Krunchy.  I choose a super cute knit print and I know you all will love it too!

Here is the backside.

The inside of the diaper did not dissapoint either.

The soaker system is made up of a petal soaker with 2 layers of super heavy organic bamboo fleece and 2 layers of organic hemp fleece topped with cotton velour and a lay in doubler with one layer of super heavy organic bamboo fleece and one layer of organic hemp fleece topped with cotton velour (lay in doubler only comes with the One Size diapers). 

It is super soft and silky which I think comes from the velour she uses. I love that it has a extra little booster and we use this diaper at night time and it lasts him all night long. Here is how it looks on.

Now for the backside.

I love this diaper and again this lasts him all night long. It doesn't hurt that the print is super cute also.
