I took the big plunge into essential oils and this year i will be using them more in my every day life and mixing up some more lotions and potions.

My 2015

This year I am going to gear up on doing more just writing posts and not all reviews. I want life to slow down and I want to sit and take in all of 2015. This year I want to write more about what foster care is all about and I want to post more gardening posts and lost of things about essential oils and recipes I make with them. I also am getting a craft.office this year and I'll probably be filming the start and process of ti hopefully. Ill start out with a haul of my essential oils that i filmed a little while back and posted to youtube.

This charger works great and it seems to charge pretty quickly. My cat shewed my home charger so i put this in my car to charge and in just a little bit i had a full battery. This is a good charger for the value and Im sure we will be adding another to our other car soon.

How to Choose Healthy Foods from Your Everyday Grocery Store

Most people would love to eat healthier. Whether you are using a specific diet or just trying to make healthier choices, eating healthier requires you to purchase healthier foods. Sometimes, this can be difficult.

In order to truly eat healthy, it’s important that you choose the healthiest ingredients. Choosing an apple over a bag of chips is a great way to start, but choosing an apple that has been filled with unhealthy preservatives may not be doing much more for your overall health and wellness.

Find the organic section.

Most grocery stores today have come to realize that their customers are interested in buying organic. For this reason, most stores have added an organic section to their produce department, as well as other areas throughout the store. Locate the organic section in your grocery store and do all of your shopping from this section. This way, you can ensure that the foods you eat are safe from preservatives and other unhealthy additives. Just keep in mind that this section may include less items than what a specialty store may carry, so if you’re looking for something other than organic apples and lettuce, you may be out of luck.

Pay attention to product labels.

If you don’t necessarily need to purchase organic, but you want to make sure you’re buying healthy foods, be sure to pay attention to the product labels. Most products will call out their health and wellness benefits through stickers or other callouts, such as fair trade, raised without antibiotics, non GMO, etc.

Talk with your butcher.

If your grocery store has a butcher, have a conversation with your butcher to find out which products are the healthiest. He or she should know where their products come from, and they may even be able to provide you with information regarding the pasteurization of certain products, how animals were raised, or what the animals may have been fed. They will also be willing to provide you with certain cuts of meat. So if you’re looking for a filet instead of a T-bone, just ask.

Know the difference between preservation processes.

In order to maintain a longer shelf life, food is preserved. While some preservation methods are unhealthy due to unnatural chemicals and additives, others are much healthier alternatives, like HPP. Choosing foods based on healthier processing services such as these can help ensure you receive the safest, healthiest products from your local grocery store.

Bundle Up: Saving Energy During the Winter

What are you doing to save energy during the winter time? If you’re cranking up the heat and seem to be spending a lot of money it’s because you’re not using the earth’s energy to your advantage. In addition to the earth’s energy there are other tips you could be taking advantage of as well. Use energy preserving tips on a daily basis and save energy and money. There are many actions you can take that are very inexpensive that will result in you saving money throughout the winter and beyond.

Use the Earth’s Thermal Energy

Use the earth’s energy to your advantage. How? No matter how cold the temps are outside, there are things you can do inside that will help you save money. If you have south-facing windows open curtains during the day. If it’s sunny outside the sunshine will naturally heat your home and help you stay warm. When it’s not sunny outside try using a heavy-duty plastic sheet on the inside of your window frames. Seal the plastic tightly to the frame and this will help reduce cold air from getting in. What’s more, investing in insulating shades or drapes on windows too can help get rid of drafts when it’s cold outside.

Try a Geothermal System

A geothermal system is an excellent way to cut back on costs during the winter. This system is made from excellent technology that uses the earth’s thermal energy to pre-condition refrigerant used to heat and cool your home. Change the Temperature

Be smart and you’ll be happy with the rewards and the satisfaction that you’re also helping the earth!

Preserve Your Heating Systems

If you haven’t scheduled servicing for your heating system in a while it’s a good idea to do it sooner rather than later. If you’re not sure what type of maintenance you need call the manufacturer, a heater service center, or do some research online. If you have a wood burning heater it’s also important to clean the inside of the appliance and vents regularly. In addition if you own a furnace replace your filter as needed or once a month if you are using it quite often.  Keep your heating systems around by keeping them clean and you’ll preserve energy and won’t have to replace them very often.

Eco-Friendly Ways to Keep Your Home Safe and Sound

Typical home security methods, while effective, are incredibly energy draining. Not only do these methods use an abundance of extra electricity, in the case of old, non-energy efficient thermostats and water heaters, they are actually harmful to the environment and pose other dangerous risks.

Here are a few eco-friendly tips that can simultaneously protect both your home and the environment:

1. Home Security System

Incandescent light bulbs use nearly 90 percent more energy than LED, energy efficient light bulbs. In fact, incandescent light bulbs are not sold in many home improvement stores anymore, as some states have outlawed the production and selling of them. Compact fluorescent lights are more cost-efficient, eco-friendly, and just as attractive as incandescent.

Solar lighting receives its energy from the heat and light of the sun. Making the switch to solar powered lights will save on electricity, as the lights will turn on and off automatically based on the amount of daylight outside. Not only is it energy efficient, it also gives an added layer of security. Outdoor lights tend to deter burglars, for they make it difficult for burglars to stealthily break in.  

4. Drought Scape

Planting water efficient landscape reduces your need and dependency for water. Furthermore, since typical drought scape uses small, well-manicured plants, ground covering, or bark, it is much harder for an intruder to hide within the foliage. Homes with ornate, thick landscaping are much more appealing to culprits, for the coverage it provides gives them ample time to break into windows.

5. Energy Efficient Windows

Single-paned windows are not as efficient as double-paned windows. The original windows in older homes were typically made with single-paned glass. Investing in new double-paned windows will help keep the inside of your home comfortable, allowing you to use your air conditioner or heater less.

Stress- Free Holidays: Natural Remedies For Aches and Pains

While the holidays are an exciting and joyous time for many, some people are unable to enjoy them fully because of aches and pains caused by stress, chronic pain, or just general muscle tension.
