Green Mountain Diapers Review & Giveaway #clothdiaper

My love for cloth diapers grows a little more every day. Now i have heard about Green Mountain Diapers but I have never tried out their products. Our baby had a sensitivity to anything that would stay wet on the skin when he was a newborn so i sold off all of our prefolds. Now that he is almost 1 he can use them. I got to try our some awesome products from Green Mountain Diapers. The first item is their Two Sided Wipes and they retail for $10.95 for 12.

Cotton terry on one side, soft flannel on the other side. Terry is great for the main job, and the nice, smooth, gentle flannel is great for the final touch-up details. White cotton is the best color for wipes, so you can see what you are doing. 5x8 inches, approximate measurements before washing, and they will shrink somewhat.   I love this size, the feel, and the practicality of the 2 different sides. May fit in your wipes warmer without folding. This wipe is Karen's favorite, because I find it easiest to use several wipes per poopy change, grabbing a fresh wipe as needed, rather than folding a larger wipe over and over. These wipes are a less overwhelming size for a young baby's small bottom, yet still fine as baby grows. To me, flannel on one side and terry on the other has the best "feel" for the job. Suggested amount: 4 packs for a young baby, 3 packs for an older baby. 100% cotton. Made in China.

I LOVE LOVE these wipes I always grab for them first in my wipe stack. They are super soft and absorbent and they get the job done right. They are not ruff on the babies skin and the terry side really helps to get those messy jobs done.

They also sent me a Empty Spray Bottle and it retails for $.95 and a set of GMD slide Lock Diaper Pins and they retail for $$.85..
I always keep one of these small spray bottles in our diaper bag for messy diapers when we are out. I make my own solution and it works great for us.

The diaper pins are so nice I love that they lock and it is much safer for baby.

Now I tried out their Cloth-Eez Workhorse Fitted Diapers they sent me a size Medium that retails for $8.75 and a size large retails for $9.50.

Medium Red Edge-fits 14-24lbs

Large Brown Edge- fits 20-30lbs
They both have the same looking insides and here is a pic of that.
The more you wash and dry these the more absorbent they are. They will shrink up a little bit and get a quilty appearance.

Cloth-eez Workhorse original white fitted diapers. Optical-brighener-free, chlorine-free white 100% cotton. Simple. Effective, pure cotton. Or choose the same thing in organically grown cotton here.
Wonderful 100% cotton prefold diaper fabric in fitted diaper shape with a built in flap style doubler. Newborn and small have 6 layers in the flap and medium and up have 8 layer flaps, which is age-appropriate layering. Did you ever wish your lovely prefolds were shaped like a fitted? There is no better diapering fabric than the cotton prefold fabric. It washes so easily and wears so well. No polyester stink, no repelling, no special detergents are needed for 100% cotton diapers. The snaps are covered by the cotton fabric inside so no snaps touch baby. The flap style doubler is sewn inside in the back only for quick drying. See pictures on a baby here. Designed by Karen and made exclusively for Green Mountain Diapers. I love cotton diapers, especially prefolds, but sometimes a fitted style is preferred. This is an economy fitted with great low price and no confusing adjustments which create additional bumps and lumpy places. It's not fancy but it does the job really well at a great price. Sized diapers fit better than "one-size-fits-all" diapers because young babies are little and older babies are bigger. Yup, that's true. We made the wings a little longer on the no-closure version to give you more fabric to use for pinning or fastening them but the rise is the same for both versions. Consider baby's shape when choosing size. Wide, round "booty" shapes will need to size-up sooner than narrow, flat-bottom shapes, who will stay in a smaller size longer. Very fast growing newborns can skip size small and go from Newborn to Medium. Made in Pakistan.
Also in GOTS Certified organically grown
Here is how it look on.

And the backside.

I had never even though to try out a fitted prefold style diaper and I'm sorry that I didn't I loved it. My husband even used it as a night time diaper and the baby lasted in it from 9pm-7am with no leaks!! Impressive.

I was also sent a Thirsties diaper cover in size Medium in the Baby Bird Blue Print and it retails for $11.50. The size Mudium fits 18-28lbs so I am sure this cover will fit the size Medium Workhorse and the size large as well.
Thirsties is a simple wrap-style cover, similar to the Bummis Super Brites in that it has gussets and no inner polyester layer. The PUL (waterproofing) is exposed on the inside for a more slick, wipe-clean surface. The size is different than Bummis Supers. The size, fit and cut is different. They are lower on the leg and is a little larger at the hip. The gusset is deeper. Solid colors. Size small really is for 12 pounds or more, not for newborns. Mediums run larger than the sizes, listed, I think. Large is big and should fit most up to 40 pounds. Wonderful over Workhorse diapers. Thirsties covers are latex-free. A true-sized cover in actual sizes with no bumpy rise snaps on the outside. Simple, effective and made in the USA.
Don't confuse this with the adjustable rise cover from Thirsties, called the Thirsties Duo Wrap Snap or the Thirsties Duo Wrap Aplix. The one on this page is the Thirsties Cover, which is a true-size cover that does not have rise snaps.

Here is how it looks on.
And the back
I always use this cover with the size medium Workhorse diaper. So Cute!

Lastly I was sent a Cloth-eez 8ply doubler in size small and it retails for $1.50.
he same lovely prefold fabric as our beloved Cloth-eez® prefolds in a doubler sizes. All sizes 8 layers (8-ply) of 100% cotton. I love the prefold fabric because it's so soft and pliable. It is quilty just like prefolds are so they come out of the dryer curly and need to be flattened out by hand a bit. This is the nature of the twill prefold fabric. I like to match fabrics. Organic is unbleached organically grown cotton (GOTS certified) and is 50 cents more. As an alternative use, you can use 2 together instead of those smelly microfiber inserts. This prefold fabric washes very easily and doesn't hold stink because it is 100% cotton. And best of of all, they are very inexpensive. Doublers add additional absorbency in any style diaper. You can fit the size small into the newborn Workhorse diaper.

I not only use this insert with my Workhorse diaper but i use it at night time and nap time for extra absorbency. It works great.
